Geo-redundant storage (GRS) in Azure maintains a total of 6 copies of the data. Three copies are stored synchronously within a single physical location in the primary region using Locally Redundant Storage (LRS). Additionally, data is copied asynchronously to a single physical location in a secondary region, where three more copies are maintained using LRS.
